Acknowledgement of our continued contributions to the Marie Curie Cancer Association in 2022/3

Hi Both    Thursday 27 April 2023

I just wanted to drop you a quick e-mail to thank you and the members, for the on-going support you have given us with our charity fundraising. Without this support we wouldn’t have raised as much as we have over the years for the charities. Yesterday’s raffle raised £135 towards our target of £10k this year for Dementia UK. Please pass on our thanks to the members.

By funding vital dementia research, you are providing hope for the future

Dear BMGS Members

Thanks to your recent generosity, you are providing hope for everyone affected by dementia - now and in the future. You have helped fund influential scientists who are at the forefront of life-changing research for people living with dementia.

Although dementia is one of the biggest killers in the UK today, there are still five times fewer researchers who choose to work in the field than on cancer. Your support helps push dementia research to the top of the agenda by investing in promising new researchers and ground-breaking research to take us one step closer to living in a world free from dementia.

Thank you again for being a part of our inspiring and caring community of supporters. Your generosity goes a long way and will provide help and hope for people living with dementia.

With my warmest wishes,

Dr Richard Oakley

Associate Director of Research, Alzheimer's Society

Dear Mr Lawrence

The RNLI Lifeboat Supporter's, thank you very much for your generous donation of £460.00, we received from yourself, in respect of the:

North Wales Golf, Tournament.

As perhaps you may be aware, the RNLI rely entirely on voluntary donations which contribute towards the running costs of our Lifeboat Station in Llandudno, therefore we do appreciate your donation towards the very important matter of saving lives at sea.

Once again we thank you very much for your support to the RNLI Llandudno Lifeboat, this is much appreciated.

Yours sincerely

Gordon Byrom Treasurer.

P & A Group/Zest Leisure are currently fundraising for a young staff member !

Callum Percival has recently been diagnosed with a malignant spinal tumour and following emergency surgery at Walton Hospital, he faces months of gruelling cancer treatments.

Thank you all for your support at the Hesketh Golf Club and Pleasington Golf Club with your contributions towards this fundraising in August/September 2018.

Callum Percival - Go Fund Donation of £500.00 - The response from his Father in Law - Arwel Williams

To All your members

We have just noticed your incredibly kind donation to Callum’s Gofundme page. The family have been touched by your generosity and Callum asked me to drop you a line to express our eternal gratitude.

Initially, the target was set at £500, in the hope that it would help with the day to day expenses involved with getting his Fiancée and their baby, Henri, back and forth to hospital and to cover any overnight stays.

As you can see we are now heading towards £3000 and the family decided to leave the fund untouched so that they can use it for any furniture or special equipment they may need in the future when

a suitable home is found for them all.

Callum is currently undergoing Chemotherapy and although he has been told that he will never walk again the doctors are hopeful that his cancer is totally curable and he will get to see Henri growing up. Which has given us all

something to be thankful for.

So could you please convey our undying thanks to all your members for their generosity and assure them that the money will be put to good use.

Thank you once again

Yours Faithfully

Arwel Williams

Grand Total for Cancer Research = £1020.00

Just wanted to thank you and the Society for your efforts yesterday. Both Steve and I were completely overwhelmed by both the generosity and support of the members and their guests with regard to our marathon run this Sunday. Our target is to raise £10,000 so this has been huge help.

We were so inspired leaving Conway last night that we called a meeting this morning to inform all the runners taking part of the support that was shown by this fantastic Society....it will certainly spur us all on through the pain!!

Thanks again, I will let you know how we get on!

 Subj: Golf Day invoice Payment

 Dear Ray,

 Re: 0006777 - Invoice 899 -  £700- Receipt No. 30980

On Behalf of Beechwood Cancer Care Centre I would like to thank you
for taking part in our annual Golf Day. With your support we raised
 £10,500.

This welcome contribution to the centre will be used to help provide
all our services free of charge to those who need them. Here at
Beechwood we support not only the patient but their carers and
families. It is through the generosity and thoughtfulness of people
such as yourselves, that we are able to carry out the wonderful work we
 do here.

Isla Rose Miller Memorial Trophy

Morning Everyone,

I just wanted to drop you a note personally thank thank you so much for your support last Monday and in particular the incredible kindness you showed me and When You Wish Upon a Star in producing that fantastic banner.

The day itself is always a tough one for me so please accept my sincere apologies for not thanking those of you that were at the event last week. To say I was overwhelmed with your generosity would be a massive understatement.  As mentioned in a previous e mail because of you, there are now two poorly children, who are dealing with life threatening illnesses, that have been told that they are off to see the Real Santa in Lapland this Christmas. Please think about that in terms of how happy you have made these kids, how much it will give them a boost during what could be months of treatment, and what it means to their families. I hope you are all very proud.  My little girl, Isla Rose, I know will be very proud of you.  With my sincere best wishes  Andrew

Phil says:

Thank you very much for your kind donation.

Hi All

Well we did it !!!!!!!

After 5 days scrambling over the Barranco wall, surviving the Kissing Stone and numerous high altitude climbs, it was time to ascend Mount Kilimanjaro summit

This would be our toughest challenge yet. We woke just after midnight, and for the next 6 hours would trek the steepest, and most demanding part of the whole route by torch light. It was a long and gruelling trek through scree to reach the crater rim, after a short break we then made a final assault up to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the African Continent at 5896 metres (19,371 feet). The rising morning sunlight provided us with spectacular views across the plains below, and of Mount Meru in the distance. After some photos we descended quickly, and after 13.25 hours we finally arrived back to our base camp, safely but tired

Having set a target of £3,500, I am delighted to announce that so far we have raised a staggering £4,520.00 for Rainbow's Children's Hospice

Phil has raised a similar amount for Beechwood care centre. So collectively, and with further pledges to follow, we have raised over £11,000 with gift aid, between us.

Of course we are delighted to have reached the summit of the largest free standing mountain, but more so at raising such a significant amount of money for our chosen charities.

Attached are a selection of photographs, I hope you like them
